Unfortunately with cherry tomatoes you get a whole bunch all ripe at once. And I am not letting a single one of those ripe red beauties go to waste. You can make one jar for yourself, or a bunch of them to share your harvest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you can boil water, you can make these. Seriously! All you do is boil some water, vinegar and salt then pour it over the tomatoes in your jars. Let them sit for 24 hours or more and that's it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Give these a try and I think you will be pleasantly surprised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to serve pickled cherry tomatoes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Throw them in a salad, or on a cheese or charcuterie plate, or put them in a sandwich. Or sneak them straight from the jar late at night... hey, I was just taste testing them for the blog, repeatedly, uh...&nbsp;to make sure the flavor didn't change, yeah that's it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Water Bath Canning<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You do not have to seal the jars on these if that intimidates you, but then you will have to keep the jars in the refrigerator. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Water bath canning is so easy you might just want to give it a try so you can keep these for eating later in the year ... or so you can ship a jar off to your baby brother&nbsp;on the other side of the country&nbsp;who was run over by his own car (don't ask...). Get more info from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.freshpreserving.com\/getting-started\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">pros at Ball if you are new to canning<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to keep the tomatoes from popping<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are canning these, even 10 minutes in boiling water can cause the tomatoes to swell inside and the skin to burst. Some of it depends on the thickness of the skin and size of the tomatoes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can try poking them with a toothpick a few times to allow the juices in the tomato to seep out there instead of exploding. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even if they pop they might not look \"insta worthy\", but they are still tasty. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingredients for Pickled Cherry Tomatoes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Grape tomatoes can be used in place of the <strong>cherry tomatoes<\/strong>, and you could use different <strong>herbs<\/strong>, like oregano or basil, instead. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pick your favorite <strong>fresh herb<\/strong> to pair with the <strong>garlic<\/strong>. Rosemary, basil, dill, oregano, thyme, cilantro and parsley would all be good pairings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For proper pickling you will also need some <strong>vinegar<\/strong> and <strong>salt<\/strong>.
