If you have a method that works for you, then use it. If it ain't broke don't fix it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The method below was how my parents did it. It worked for them and for me for years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now that I have a pressure cooker, I prefer the<strong> 5-5-5 Instant Pot <\/strong>method for perfectly cooked eggs. The method works regardless of the brand of pressure cooker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Place a trivet in the bottom of a pressure cooker.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Place eggs on top, add 1 cup of water.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cook on high pressure for <strong>5 minutes<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Let sit for <strong>5 minutes<\/strong> after cooking.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>While eggs are resting, fill a large bowl with some ice and water.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Release remaining pressure in the cooker.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Carefully move the eggs to the ice bath with a slotted spoon or tongs. Let them sit for<strong> 5 minutes<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>OPTIONAL STEP: Sticking a pin in the bottom (larger) part of the egg will allow the air inside the pocket to escape, no matter which cooking method used, creating a more rounded shape. You want to just pierce through the the shell Don't insert the pin too far or you will break the membrane of the air pocket into the egg white itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Deviled Eggs Variations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The basic recipe below can easily be altered to your taste or what is on hand in the kitchen. The only limits are you imagination<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some possible add-ins and toppings:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>herbs such as tarragon, chives,&nbsp;parsley, or basil<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>spices: paprika, curry powder, sesame seeds, season salt, Cajun seasoning, etc.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>sauces like flavored mustard, pesto, wasabi, pepper, horseradish <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>vegetable puree such as beets, spinach, carrots, avocado<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>finely diced celery, olives, or pickles, sun dried tomatoes, roasted red peppers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>bacon, sausage tuna, salmon, chopped shrimp, cheese, caviar<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Change up the egg whites by using <a href=\"https:\/\/harvest2u.com\/pickled-beet-eggs-using-leftover-brine\/\">pickled eggs<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.akitchenhoorsadventures.com\/dragons-eggs\">crackled eggs<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.smartschoolhouse.com\/holidays\/colored-deviled-eggs\">dyeing the egg whites<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Decorate the deviled eggs for different seasons:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Halloween: <a href=\"https:\/\/blogghetti.com\/spider-deviled-eggs-for-halloween\">spider eggs<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.akitchenhoorsadventures.com\/dragons-eggs\">dragon This prevents over cooking as well as making the shells easier to remove. Let sit for about 15 minutes, drain water.<\/span><\/div><\/li><li id=\"wprm-recipe-23554-step-0-4\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\" style=\"list-style-type: decimal;\"><div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\" style=\"margin-bottom: 5px;\"><span style=\"display: block;\">Chill eggs until ready to prepare. Carefully remove yolks to a small bowl. Mash yolks thoroughly with a fork. (If you are so inclined, you can fill a pastry tube with the yolks to fill the whites for a fancy presentation. A heavy plastic storage bag can be substituted for a pastry tube.
