<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\nThis recipe takes a bit longer than some cookie recipes because you start by cooking the apple cider with warm spices until it is nice and thick. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Instead of vanilla extract or other flavorings, the apple cider syrup is the flavor base for the cookie and the icing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The result is an amazing burst of apples and spices in every bite!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Apple Cider versus Apple Juice<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Apple Cider is fresh and raw and usually, unpasteurized. Apple Juice is filtered and pasteurized, making it sweeter and clearer with a longer shelf life.
I made these cookies with cider, but you can use apple juice if that is what you have. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ingredients for Mulled Cider Cookies<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Aside from the apple cider, these cookies are made with basic baking ingredients. Everything should be easy to find. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

- apple cider<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- mulling spices: cinnamon, whole allspice berries, whole cloves (optional)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- all purpose flour<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- ground cinnamon, baking powder and baking soda<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- butter or favorite substitute<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- egg or favorite substitute<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- sugars: light brown sugar and powdered sugar<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- colored sugar, sprinkles, etc. (optional)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
