But, who wants to wait around for a whole turkey to roast (or smoke) on a weeknight. That's why turkey breasts are so convenient. Same great taste but easy to cook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Does it taste like it has been cooked for hours in a smoker? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>No, but it does have a nice mild smoke flavor to it. If you want a more intense smoke flavor to it, marinade overnight in a mixture of red wine vinegar, olive oil and liquid smoke. I was going for fast this time around.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Slow Cooker versus Pressure Cooker Smokey Turkey Breast<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I have a <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/2JuMUqu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">stovetop pressure cooker<\/a>, an <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/2GONyO1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">electric pressure cooker<\/a> and a <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/2HoFftm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">programmable slow cooker<\/a>. &lt;-- those are affiliate links to the products I have purchased, any purchases made through those links may make me a few pennies to support this blog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All three can be used to make this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This time around I used the InstaPot, but I have made it in the slow cooker in the past. The key to both methods is to brown the breast before cooking or it ends up pale and pasty looking. It adds about 5-10 minutes to the work time but it is worth it in the end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingredients for Smokey Turkey Breast<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>There are only a few ingredients needed for this recipe:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>bone in turkey breast (boneless will cook faster)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>olive oil or other cooking oil<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>seasoned salt or salt free herb blend or a little garlic and pepper<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>liquid smoke, any flavor (we usually use mesquite)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Serve it with a salad or some fresh vegetables, maybe mashed potatoes or stuffing (try <a href=\"https:\/\/thatrecipe.com\/cornbread-stuffing\/\">southern style cornbread<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/thatrecipe.com\/sourdough-andouille-dressing\/\">sourdough andouille dressing<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">More Turkey Recipes from #OurFamilyTable<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Turkey isn't just for Thanksgiving.
