Strawberry shortcake is one of the classic tastes of spring and summer. This version combines basic strawberry shortcake into a Swiss cake roll. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cake rolls may look intimidating if you have never made them before, but they are actually pretty easy. The trick is to roll it while still hot and let it cool in the roll form. Then you unroll and fill. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to make a decorated cake roll<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I have wanted to make a decorated cake roll since I first saw one years ago. And when Spring Sweets Week came around I knew it was finally going to happen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can skip this step and just leave the outside plain. But, it is fun and easy to do. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  1. print two pages of designs (use any design you choose)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. put them on the pan<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. put a layer of parchment paper over it<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. add a drop of food coloring to a few tablespoons of batter<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. spoon the batter on the parchment paper covered design<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. freeze then remove design paper<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  7. spread the remaining batter GENTLY over the frozen design<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  8. bake and fill as usual<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
