These truffles came about when I needed a little homemade gift for a friend at the last minute. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I modified my mother-in-law's Sour Cream Mocha Truffles <\/a>recipe, which are also delightful, especially if you like coffee. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What type of chocolate should you use for Almond Chocolate Truffles? <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Because of the sour cream and butter, I went with stronger less sweet dark chocolate. They were definitely chocolatey without being overly sweet, which is something I love. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

These are not sugar free, but are very low in sugar, especially if you use dark chocolate chips.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you want them a bit sweeter, go for semi-sweet chips or add a little sugar to the pan when melting the chocolate. Start with just a tablespoon or two and taste it before adding more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
